YOU COULD HAVE STAYED.

My heart was a soulful palace for you to reside,

Which had all the doors closed and furniture never collide,

I had preserved you with extreme love and care besides,

And will never quit me was what you always had to decide.

I had cleaned all the spaces,

I mirrored only you and no other faces,

I decorated the palace with different laces,

You had to play in the quad of my heart with aces.

You laughed at the expression of my love,

You never took anything seriously. I do not know-how?

You always wished to fly away from my heart’s cage, like a dove,

But I ignored all these signs like an innocent cow.

Now this palace is lying deserted,

No one resides here, and I have locked it, giving nobody shelter,

Constant thinking about you has made my mind wander,

I flow in the river of negativity and pessimism, broken and devasted.

I hope you stayed for some time longer,

Though surrounded by family, I feel myself lonelier,

I find no solace in anyone closer,

Only your arms were my habitat to find peace inner.

I crave for that one glance of yours,

One call of my name by you would be a peaceful source,

At least a remorseful look would quench my thirst by force,

But everything is empty, and my only pain pierces.

Now only memories are left behind,

Roses, laughter, chocolate, everything remind,

Of our closeness to which I smile and rewind,

Your touch and I say I wish you stayed longer without leaving me hollow inside.

I love you, though you may have left me behind,

I love you, though you have moved ahead,

I love you, though my heart is murdered,

I love you till the last beat of my heart and till the last hope that exists.
